  • All video “offline” in project after reinstalling Windows

    Hi there,

I’m working on a project in CS6 and was hoping it would remain intact after reinstalling Windows 7. However, all the video is “offline” (although the audio is still intact).

I backed up the C drive before the reinstall and have pasted everything back as it was before. I have also changed the scratch disks to what I believe they were set to before and have subsequently tried altering them to every possible combination without avail. Any ideas as to what is causing the problem would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Terry.

The key thing here is that you learn to never put your scratch disc and/or footage on the C drive. Always put the files in a different hard drive.

Now to fix the problem this time just right clic the first clip and select reconnect. Then find the footage and if all the footage is in the same folder it won’t be hard.

Let me know if it works.
