Importing a .mp4 file into FCP7. I’ve checked over and over again that my settings match up. Attached is a screenshot showing everything is the same. Yet when I drag the clip into my timeline I am still asked to render. I don’t have time to let the computer sit rendering for hours! What am I missing?

FCP7 really on likes to edit with ProRes .mov,
    everything else gets sticky.

FCP doens’t work with MP4 files. You need to convert them to ProRes 422.

Yesterday I waited all day for compressor to convert the file to ProRes 422 then tried to match setting with a new sequence and get the same issue.

Well, if the frame size is something odd…isn’t 1920×1080 or 1280×720…then you’ll have the same issue.
