all my clips in sequence lost links to clips in browser?

That is not FC who doesn’t find the path to the files, but the files that do not let FC to retrieve them.
I would make some system maintenance (Permissions, directories..).

Are the clips and the sequence in the same PROJECT? If you bring a clip from one project into a sequence that is in another project, the clip affiliations are broken.

Yes, clips imported into browser…then edited into SEQ. Now lost the links.

How important is it to rebuild directories? Is just checking files and permissions good enough? For some reason I can’t boot from my DW CD…it kernal panic’s on bootup on my laptop. I haven’t tried my desktop though…

repaired permissions and checked files on MacHD…only checked files on Media RAID (internal 3TB RAID0)

Still experiencing same results.

This has nothing to do with directories or permissions. If you were having trouble with media files going offline, then I would agree with that diagnosis.

Are you sure you did not paste the sequence from one project to another?

As Shane stated, match frame will not work between projects. The link between the master clip and the sequence clip will be broken, if you move the sequence to a new project.

If you did not move the sequence between projects, then there is some sort of project corruption at play that has broken your links. Not really much you can do to fix it, unfortunately.

Did these sequence clips ever link to the browser clips? Can you open up an older version of your project from your Autosave Vault where things did link up? Do some clips link or none of them? If its not every single clip, it might be better to let FCP create a new master clip (as it asked you in a dialog), then move the new master clip to its proper bin. If its every clip in the sequence, and not just a few, that would be really cumbersome though.

Absolutely, this is a standalone project that was started from scratch…in the browser. 2 Camera greenscreen that I’ve been very meticulous in building to keep things straight.

This is what happens when the “File Finder Info’ get corrupted, something that happens with the curent use of the files.
Nothing wrong with the file, but this prevents applications finding the file path.
FC have never been buggy on retrieving footage with TC.

Sorry, but both, Shane and you are wrong.
You don’t need to have the footage in the Browser for FC to be able to connect the footage on the sequences.
Dragging sequences from other projects, or clips from the Finder to the time-line; no problem.
FC needs no much more than a file name and a proper TC.
