  • All My Bin Content is Suddenly Gone…But The Sequence Still Plays?

Okay, for those who read my other recent posting. My apologizes for any incoherence. I’ve been working a long time on this project and haven’t gotten far. It’s been tough, sorry for lousy posting.

I did another copy to a new sequence and everything in the timeline is rectified…kind of.

Everything plays but there’s absolutely nothing in my bin that completes the project. It’s entirely empty but the project sequence is all together. The video’s playing but there’s nothing in the bin.

Please somebody tell me this is a common noob problem. I have no idea why my project is working again or why my project is in this strange ghost state. Further, what do I do next to keep things from getting all screwed up?

Attached is a screen shot of what I mean.

As always, thanks for any feedback.

    Best,
    -m

Open FCP7 Manual and read article on Master clip – Affiliated Clip relationship. The easiest way to restore bins with files in them is open auto-saved project and copy all the stuff therefrom. To avoid this mistake in future take your time to read fundamentals of working with FCP7.
