[mortimer heathcliff] “…or maybe you assume too much.”

    Mortimer,

Yes, its possible that I have become jaded over time, but unfortunately I see this behavior far too much of the time. We are part of a community in which many of us help others round the clock, completely and utterly out of the goodness of our hearts. And, we all work in a business with deadlines and looming demands, so when someone raises the red flag here, they should be prepared to give details when the calvary arrives, otherwise the the next time when they really need help no one will come. Its a basic rule of etiquette and respect for others, because each of is only on this planet a short time…

yes, i do understand. ying-yang, karma, the golden rule…

and by the way, it’s “cavalry”…”Calvary”* is where Jesus was crucified

    : )

i have to admit i am probably one of the worst offenders of the “ask-for-help-get-my-answer-and-run” syndrome, but i’m trying to do better, and trying to offer some advice when i can (but usually my knowledge is a mere pittance in compared to some of the gurus here).

*the Anglicised Latin form of “Golgotha”, “the skull”.

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

I nominate you as the new FCP Forum spell checker… Of course, if you accept the mission, every word you write must be spelled properly. Willing to take on the job???

    absolutely not!

i am far too hypocritical to correct others’ mistakes and expect to be perfect myself!!! : )

(by the way, is my apostrophe after “other” above in the right place? i always forget that one…)

    : )

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

Ah, now who’s assuming too much? For more than half the world it should read,
“Where some guy who may or may not have been named Jesus, may or may not have been crucified” 🙂
BTW, David, you beat me to the punch, the guy (who should really be on the calf, based on all his posts I’ve read, should be polite enough to either *not* say “emergency, emergency!!!”, or respond in a timely manner, at least with a thank-you, to all the people who tried to help him with his “emergency”.

    hi ed,

hey, it would be fun to turn this into a faith discussion forum (oh, the moderators would have a cow, wouldn’t they?) but suffice to say that i don’t think i assumed any more than the history books tell us. it’s pretty much a historical “fact” (as far as “facts” can be trusted these days anyway) that a man named Jesus was actually crucified (as were THOUSANDS in those days) on a hill called “Golgotha” around the year 33 AD (possibly as late as 36 AD). even non-Christian historians confirm this.

now, what a person DOES with that bit of information (as well as the ensuing resurrection) is where faith and religion come into play.

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

Sorry for the late response, I have been in meetings, and yes its VERY urgent. The project file used to not flicker on the images… and its not just the images… its doing it in video throughout the 30 minute show. The main thing is I cant see it doing it on my computer, when the final project is burned I can see the video jittering across in certain areas… and it gets really nasty… As i said before the project used to work fine, no jittering or anything. Not sure how it started doing it either.

I cant take a screenshot of whats going on because its on my TV not the computer.

Do you see this on an external monitor connected to your system? Is the timebase 23.98 or 29.97?
