Hopefully this is an easy one….

When I drag a clip into my timeline, only 1/2 of the audio tracks end up in the timeline.

I have a video clip with 4 audio tracks associated to it(2 were from the tape and the other 2 were from the boom mic, synced using the “merge” command”

When i drag this clip into my timeline, all 4 tracks drag down with it. When I drop the clip into the timeline, tracks 3 and 4 dissapear.

there are 2 “source tabs” enabled. This process works fine with other clips in the same timeline.

    What am i doin wrong?

DO you see 4 audio tabs next to the timeline when the clip is loaded into the Viewer? If so, make sure ALL of them are connected. If two aren’t (separate from the timeline), click on them to connect.

Thanks for the quick response. i figured out the prob just as soon as i clicked “post”

Basically, there were only 2 audio tracks at the in/out points i had set. lol

the video track had 2 takes in it, but i was only merging the audio from the first take. so, naturally, 1/2 of the clip only had 2 audio tracks.

Although, I discovered something interesting in the process. FCP 5.1.4 will not allow me to merge another 2 tracks onto a track that was created by merging.
