Alka Seltzer Dissolve from matte
Posted by Jesse Richards on February 22, 2007 at 8:00 pmI am trying to create a dissolve from a matte. i want it to seem as though the matte is dissolving into bubbles (from the bottom upwards) and rising off screen.
any ideas of how to do this or plug ins that may help?
thanks

February 22, 2007 at 8:19 pmi would think particular from trapcode would work well… you may also give particle playground a try (standard ae effect with pro bundle). its a little harder to learn but it should work for this effect.

February 22, 2007 at 10:54 pmI start looking at Shatter first for all degenerative projects. The physics in Shatter will do just about anything, it’s a true 3D particle system and you can apply it twice to the same layer to get more realistic bubbles. Globular is NOT one of Shatter’s preset shapes so you might need to think differently. .

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

February 23, 2007 at 1:48 amI’ve done something similar using a custom shatter map to make hearts with a 3d depth fall down over the footage and used a linear transition on the footage, and it looked pretty good. I’m thinking you could use that same technique for bubbles with the shatter and then use that as your matte.
