  • aligning one layer to another one that is in the right position

    Hi guys.
If I want to align 2 layers, I go to the align panel. The problem with that aproach is that it aligns the layers to an average position for the selected layers. What I actually want to do is to align the second layer to the first one, there is, I want the first layer to stay put and the second layer to be aligned (bottom, center or top) to the first layer without changing the position of the first layer. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

If you parent the second layer to the first layer temporarily, then the second layer’s position property will be relative to the first layer’s anchor point.

So if you change the x-position to 0 they will be aligned vertically. If you change the y-position to 0 they will be aligned horizontally. Be sure to un-parent the second layer if you don’t want to maintain the parent/child relationship.
