    Hi

    I have 2 lines moving over a comp. One moves only on the x-axis, the other only on the y. Therefore, at all times, there is an intersection point between the 2 lines. Imagine something like the cross-hairs of a sniper’s rifle. I would like a small box to always align its centre-point (anchor) to the intersection point of the two lines. Any ideas?

    X=thisComp.layer(“Line Vertical”).position[0];
    Y=thisComp.layer(“Line Horizontal”).position[1];

    [X,Y]

    Apply this simple expression to the position property of your box.

    Many thanks M, I see the principle of it. And thanks for your recent tutorials, they are prompting me to explore C4D.

    Also, often I see a 3D shape ‘appearing’ as though a 3D mask is wiping on it’s separate surfaces, but the whole leading edge of the mask/wipe is glittering/glowing/sparkling. Is this done in AE or a 3D app?

    Cheers

    I wouldn’t bother doing this stuff in 3D. Usually you have much more control in compositing by aligning masks and tweaking parameters.
