  • align to spline problem?

Posted by Emmet Reddy on May 14, 2010 at 4:38 pm

Hi Im sure there is a simple way to do this.
If i attach an object like a sphere to a circular spline using align to spline how do i get the sphere to travel around the spline again and again because at the moment i can only go from 0 to 100 percent and then it stops i need it to go continually. Think moon orbiting the earth only very quickly.
    I hope im being clear.
    Thanks Emmet

    Motion clip should do it.
Or for a circle you could make a helix spline with a height of zero.

    Howdy,

If you’re not familiar with my plugins, my CD Constraints plugin has a CD Spline Constraint tag which works similar to the align to spline tag, but with several additional features, like the ability to continue around a closed spline by setting the edit number values above 100% or below 0%. It will also allow you to manually drag the constrained object along the spline in the viewport:
