Is there a simple way to align the shape / movement of a layer, to that of a spline, or path???
Essentially, I’m looking to align some arrows to a variety of paths, but I want them to curve and bend, along those paths. Just like the “Align to Spline” effector in Cinema 4D.

    Thanks!

allign them yes… bend and distort not so easily.

    To allign:
copy the mask path and paste it on the arrow head’s position

then set the auto orientation to path. ctrl + alt + o (layer -> transform -> auto-orient)

Thanks. But unfortunately, yes, distort is what I need. I can figure a number of ways to simply follow a path / spline. But the distorted shape is key. I hate to have to step into C4D for this, because the look still needs to stay 2D.

IF the look is simple enough, C4d’s spline wrap will probably be way faster to set up then any distortion effects in AE. And c4d has parallel camera, making it BE 2d won’t be a problem.

Sure. Thanks. Good points about the parallel camera.
As much as I like using AE, I must admit that Maxon is way ahead on flexibility and user interface.
