    Hi,

I’m trying to make a 3D composition, with layers scattered around, and a camera moves between them.

I wish I could make keyframes for the camera movement in which the camera is aligned to a layer, and sees it perfectly straight forward.

I found here –https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/941453#941559 how to make the opposite – aligning the layer to the camera, but I think that putting the layers first and then animating the camera is more reasonable workflow, at least for me, but then I find myself struggling with trying to align the camera to each layer.

    thanks!

I think (correct me if this doesn’t get your result) what you want to do is parent the camera’s position and point of interest properties to a null layer. I know A.Kramer does this a lot to make camera movement more efficient. It lets you animate the null and the camera will always face that layer. I’m sure you can do this same with any other layer.

    Hi Mike, thank’s a lot!

this is not exactly what I’ve been looking for, but it will most definitely do the job.

I wanted to know which properties to copy paste from a layer to camera, so it sees it perfectly strait, but using a null object and pasting the properties from the layer to it works fine so far. the (small) problem is that moving the camera between keyframes is not intuitive (have to move the null object and not the camera), but i guess you can’t have it all.

    thanks again.

p.s. you write something about A.Kramer I don’t sure I fully understood. going to google it now..
