Aliasing when using animation codec from AE to FCP ProRes sequence
Hi all,
just need a little help here..I’m editing a live action/animation project with compositing- back plates shot on 5D MK11, I have an FCP timeline with edited 5D footage transcoded into ProRes 422 HQ using Canon plug in. I render out the sections I need, take them into AE, composite and bring the footage back.
When I render out of AE with the animation codec, it preserves my colours, no gamma shift, looks great in movieplayer, AE etc.. but once imported into FCP there is a noticeable aliasing on edges, not terrible but enough to cause concern due to the nature of the project (large scale gallery projection). If I render out of AE as ProRes HQ, and bring that file into FCP the aliasing is gone- but I get a shift in gamma.
FCP sequence is 1920 X 1080 square pixel, 25 FPS, field dominance None, all footage set to field order None in the browser-
any help appreciated!
Thanks
