I have just done a project where where I did the online in resolve 10.
Everything worked great until I had to add some very simple text to the end of the commercial and the text looked aliased and steppy.

Is there something I need to do to get smooth edges on the text?
    Seems simple but cannot fix.

    Cheers

Did you look at the text on an external monitor or on the GUI screen? What about in the rendered files?

On monitor as well as in Gui
Then I exported DPX sequence for DCP and got a call from the post house rejecting the file because the text was aliasing.

Can you give more details. What resolution? What font? Was there any output scaling applied to the timeline?

    2K 16:9 resolution
    HELVETICA NEUE
    No output scaling.

You want me to do a screen grab?

    Thanks Juan

2K 16:9… what is the target display for that? 2048×1152, wrong aspect if it’s theatrical, wrong resolution for broadcast. Better than a screen grab would be a rendered frame.

    Hi Mikee,

I run into the same issue, I had no scaling, 1080p timeline, monitor with the native resolution, nothing fancy.

I tried several fonts, same issue all over.

Then I tried to turn off the shadow effect which was there by default, and boom, smooth edges.

    🙂

Annoying little bug, it’s useful with shadows. But those edges were really ugly.
