Can anyone tell me where to go to figure how to apply a LUT to footage/dailies in FCP 7. I can’t seem to find a good explanation of the process on the interwebs on my own…

    Thanks in advance,

    Jesse.

Adding any sort of gamma correction within FCP will mean rendering all the time. If you have a Kona card I believe you can add an Alexa LUT to the monitoring. The FCP screens will still be washed out.

An alternative is to download da Vinci lite (free) and drop the built in Alexa LUT on the rushes and export working ProRes files to edit with and then match back to the originals when you finish, for grading.
