I don’t know whether this is the right forum but I wanted to know whether anyone has experience of de embedding audio with the AJA ‘splitter’. I have to do this in getting media from the new Sony XDCAM Ex camera through the HD-SDI output in order to edit on Media 100 because my version cannot take embedded audio. I believe the splitter is expensive ($900?) but I have little choice. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you referring to the HD10AMA?

All AJA mini converters are of fantastic quality.

What are you capturing from, straight from camera or a deck of sorts?

the HD10AM is 8-Channel AES embedder/disembedder and comes with breakout cables for balanced AES – XLR connectors.

the HD10AMA is 4-Channel Analog embedder/disembedder and comes with 4-Channel Balanced Analog Audio I/O set up via XLR breakout cable

i have set them both up, they work, never heard back and i certainly would have.
