I have several multi-layers HDV sequences set to render to ProRes.
When I create one Master 25 min Sequence to create either a QuickTime Movie or Reference, FCP quits.

So I’m thinking about exporting each sequence as a separate ProRes (not current settings) self contained quicktime movie. Re-importing back to FCP and placing them all in a Master ProRes sequence. Which I can then hopefully export to compressor to make my DVD.

The question is which compressor setting would be best? Apple ProRes 1440×1080 or AJA ProRes 1920×1080? I’m guessing the Apple would be since it’s the native size but I wasn’t sure if AJA’s had any benefits.

Other suggestions are welcomed since blood pressure is rising.

    thanks in advance

There’s only Apple ProRes and it’s full raster 1920×1080. AJA supports the codec, but it’s Apple’s.

[walter biscardi] “There’s only Apple ProRes and it’s full raster 1920×1080.”

Software conversion in FCP or Compressor actually maintains the original files aspect ratio- so converted HDV and DVCPROHD files stay in their horizontally compressed frame size…
