I am running FCP version 6.0.1 with Mac Power PC 2.5 GHz, 6.5 GB ram with OS X 10.4.11 . Yesterday I upgraded Kona LH softaware to 5.0 and it worked fine to digitise HDV footage to DVCPro HD. Today FCP crashed while digitising DVCPRO HD, I restarted and the Kona card is no longer recognised. In the AJA control panel it tells me ” AJA hardware or software not installed ” . I’ve uninstalled the software and now installed AJA version 5.1 but the AJA control panel tells me the same “AJA hardware or software not installed”.

How can I get the computer to recognise the hardware?
    Thanks.

1st zap your pram, (restart, hold apple-option-p-r until you hear the fourth chime, then release).

If that doesn’t work, repair permissions.

If that doesn’t work, shut down. Cool off. Open up the computer and reseat the card.

Do you have any other cards in your computer?

I’ve tried the PRAM zap and repair permissions. It still says AJA hardware or software not installed.
I’ve got 2 cards one is the Kona LH PCI-x and the other is the PCI-x card with HDMI inputs to connect a LAcie Biggest S2S harddrive.

I will have a go at reseating the card tomorrow when it and me have cooled down.

If that’s not working, call AJA.

See? A little cooling off is always worth while.

Glad you are up and running.
