AJA Kona driver version 4.0 for FCS2 released
(May 18, 2007 at 4pm PST)AJA is pleased to announce that the latest drivers for the Kona family of capture cards are now posted and available for download from the AJA website. These drivers are specifically designed for use with Apple’s Final Cut Studio 2.

Of note:
Support has been added for Apple’s Final Cut Studio 2 (KONA LS, KONA LH, KONA 3, and KONA 2)
Support has been added for Apple’s Pro Res 422 and Pro Res 422 (HQ) codecs in Final Cut Studio 2 (KONA LS, KONA LH, KONA 3, and KONA 2) including Easy Setups
Once again, the 4.0 release is specifically designed to support Apple’s Final Cut Studio 2. Users of previous versions of Final Cut Pro should refer to the Release Notes PDF file (included in the software download) for the appropriate driver version. The Release Notes PDF also contains other information on improvements, fixes and special notes.
Check the AJA website for an updated version 4.0 manual to be released soon.
AJA Driver Compatibility as of KONA Version 4.0 is as follows:
FCP 6.0.x (Final Cut Studio 2) – Kona Driver version 4.0
FCP 5.1.x – Kona Driver versions 3.1 through 3.4
FCP 5.0.x – Kona Driver version 3 (first Universal Binary version)—

Kona 2 drivers are still at V3.4; are they coming later?

The Kona 2 version 4.0 driver was available with the rest of the updated Kona drivers. Perhaps your browser needs to refresh or is holding an old page in cache?

What about the IO Product line????

The io SD drivers come from Apple and so it is up to them to release the drivers, not AJA.

AJA hasn’t released easy setups yet for the Io and FCS2, but they will be available shortly. Apple provides the actual driver for the Io, so if you are lucky enough to have an Io and a copy of FCS2, you’ll have to hand generate easy setups or just wait for a bit.

Updated our AJA LA, all is working fine with the current drivers! Bonus, with FCP 6 you can play HD footage trough the LA to view on SD monitors. Down convert down by FCP 6.
