AJA Kona 3 & Intensity on same system
Posted by John Davidson on July 29, 2011 at 9:11 pmHey guys,
It’s probably not possible to use an BlackMagic Intensity Pro on the same system as the AJA Kona 3, right? I’d prefer HDMi out vs Component and have this extra one just laying around.
Thanks,

If it works you will only be able to use device per function ie. the Kona for injest and the Intensity for monitoring.

August 1, 2011 at 10:29 pmYou won’t want both. I would suggest getting and hdsdi to hdmi converter for your Kona.

August 3, 2011 at 3:17 amI ended up getting the Studio Decklink thing and shelving the Intensity Pro for now. Kind of a waste, but maybe it’ll come in handy in the future.

August 12, 2011 at 8:43 pmHonestly, it’s apples and oranges compared to our other system’s Kona 3. It’s frame accurate and works with my decks without a hitch. The HDMI is nice so I can watch 1080p now. I guess if I worked 2k the Kona would rock that fine.
The trick is just understanding how to manage it, just like learning how to deal with AJA’s Control Panel took a little time. Like I said, Apple and Oranges.
