AJA Kona 2 – Disappearing SDI Outputs – AJA Kona 1.2.1 driver
Hi guys,
Hope you can advice me if you experience the same issue :
System Config :
PM G5 Dual 2.5Ghz
4GB RAM
ATTO UL4D
AJA Kona 2
AJA IoLAOS X 10.4.5
QuickTime 7.0.4
ATTO 3.5.0 driver
FCP 5.0.4< Problem > Running 1.2.1 driver, Kona 2 SDI Output 1 & 2 will disappear & comes back during playback, while analog output is fine. Happened after updating Kona driver from 1.1.4 to 1.2.1
Tried connecting both outputs to the same DigiBeta VTR & the SDI Input indicator will go off & come on again, during playback or edit-to-tape
These “black flashes” appear randomly & last for a frame or two
The same issue in FCP & Kona TV
The same issue for Uncompressed 8Bit in 625 PAL & DVCProHD in 1080/25p media
Tried a different Kona 2 card & swap the K-BOX to a breakout cable & still the same issue
< Solution > Un-install 1.2.1 & install 1.1.4 & now the issue goes away
Does anyone have similar setup & see the same issue ?
Whats the supported system configuration for Mac OS X, QuickTime version, FCP, ATTO ?

I had some funkiness when first upgrading to 1.2.1. Trash your prefs & repair permissions. This fixed any weirdness for me.
Although I am on 10.4.2 & qt 7.0.3
