    I have a video and audio workflow that I need to setup that involves a Sony Fs5 mark ii, a Sound Devices 664 Audio Recorder, and an AJA KiPro Rack.

    I would like to send the video out of the SDI on Sony Fs5 camera with embedded timecode.
    That would go into the AJA KiPro and record the video with camera timecode.
    Then have the KiPro send LTC timecode out to the Sound Devices 664.
    I want to get synced timecode between all three devices. Will this work?

    Someone told me that the LTC out from the KiPro will not work if the source is embedded timecode in the SDI video signal. I don’t have the KoPro yet, so I have not tested this myself. If anyone has experience with a setup like this I would very much appreciate the advice.

    Because of the limitations of the Fs5, it cannot accept or send dedicated LTC timecode.

    If you record sound seperately, why not make the SD your master clock and sacrifice a sound track on the video recording?
    That will be free, and will be a breeze in post to sync.

    I hear what you are saying and that normally that would work.
    However, I need the AJA KiPro Rack, or whatever we use as a destination device, to record the video and six tracks of AES audio together.
    Because of our turn around time and number of clips we will shoot, syncing audio in post will slow us down too much.

    We used to do this perfectly with the PIX 240i, but we just lost that device.
