Currently on set using the ARRI ALEXA rec @ 24 // MON OUT @ 25 (psf).
Video Village is using Panasonic AG-HMR10, 50Hz recording format is PH 1080/50i, the only format we can use to make video playback work with our set-up – it was the only playback gear that came with the ALEXA package at the gear house.
Because of lip sync issues, we’re changing the monitoring equipment to the AJA Ki Pro to try and record playback in the same format we are shooting: 24.
Testing everything in a couple of hours on wrap.
Having a look through the menu now on the Ki Pro: Video SG format, I only see 1080P 23.98 PSF.
The manual reads: “This parameter determines the video format output from Ki Pro’s internal test signal generator.”
The firmware update press release for 1.1 reads:
The following features are implemented with version 1.1 firmware:
• Support added for Apple ProRes 422 (LT) and Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) formats. • 720p VFR recording support added for 720p24 (23.98), 720p25 and 720p30 (29.97).
My questions is will the Ki Pro rec and playback at 24?
