I just picked up a ioLA to use as a convertor box for my new KonaLH. The LH is working fine, but I can’t get the LA to work.
What is the correct firmware and drivers? What is the current control panel software version? And how do I get the box into “stand-alone” mode?
I thought this would be an option via the control panel, but I don’t see it.

So I think I might have installed something incorrectly. I poured through the manuals and software options on the support site…just want to cross check here.

    Thanks

ALSO…despite running video into the LA, and seeing that the LA “sees” the signal, the control panel still says “No Video.” Further proof that I think I might have done something wrong.

    Thanks

Boy, am I confused – why would you need an AJA I/O LA if you have the LH?

It’s easy to get the drivers for your I/O LA. Go to http://www.aja.com, click on Support, click on IO support, and you will see the I/O LA drivers on the list. Click on that, and it will load onto your system. Restart, and go to EASY SETUPS, and select an I/O LA setting in Easy Setups, and you will be in business. But the LH does everything you need – why do you need the I/O LA anyway?

Well for one thing, he has an easy way to transcode any analog signal to SDI by using that set up. On the LA he has a “real” S-VHS connector I/O, and ditto for the the composite and component analog connections. With the LH, you get one component cable, which you can then configure separately to either be composite, component or S-VHS (which BTW requires a specialty dual bnc to s-vhs conversion cable). If you are in a studio that uses S-VHS material, composite, component, SDI, HD/SDI and HD component all with frequency, his set-up allows you to have everything connected and available for use at once, instead of having to change cabling I/O for every different source he uses, as is currently required by the LH. To answer your own question, he has the best of both worlds!
