You will need a breakout cable for analog audio input into the iO XT

    Jessica,

help us out, explain what you are trying to do? Do you really need to record live audio into the IoXT separately from a camera ?

[Kris Merkel] “You will need a breakout cable for analog audio input into the iO XT”

Kris, no analog input at all, that multi-pin connector on the back is for analog output only.

you would need an standalone audio embedder for the SDI stream or just use a camera as the embedder for the external recordings, which is why I asked for more info.

Good point, I totally misread the writing on the back of my unit. Thanks for the clarification

I know that this thread is an old one, but I have the same question.
I am working on mac pro with aja i/o xt and want to get audio into media composer from a mic (xlr) connected to a yamaha mixing console (mg124c). I get the audio on the speakers but not in media composer.
I am really confused and wonder if I can’t see the wood for the trees and just haven’t plugged correct or if I need a converter or something.
    Thanks for helping me!
