We have 2 g4 laptops that we want to be able to hook up to our deck rack. Our 5 desktop FCP edit bays are wired SDI and we want to be able to have 2 laptops be able to hook into the rack as well. Which is the best board for this? Is anyone using a Laird LTM-6000 with a laptop FCP system?

I also posted this question in aja IO forum.

    Thanks for any help

    Hi Jeremy,
You might also consider the Convergent Design SD-Connect. It works great with FCP and includes RS-422 tape deck control with frame accurate insert/assemble editing capability. The SD-Connect has component, composite, s-video, SDI with embedded audio, 4 channels of AES/EBU, and 4 channels of balanced analog audio I/O. We are also working on an update to allow uncompressed over firewire support with FCP in the near future.
We are currently offering a 15 day free evaluation. Take a look at our website for more information and reviews:

What would be the advantages of the SD connect over either the Laird or the AJa? Has anyone used the laird with a fcp system?
