Just realized I posted in the Kona forum and not the IO forum. Silly me. It’s mostly the same readers so what do you think?

[Russell Lasson] “Any word if it’s going to work as an output for color? “

the IoHD is currently only able to output live as SD (both NTSC and PAL) from Color.

this is a limitation of Color at this time.

Considering Color doesn’t even support firewire at this time, this is a huge step forward by AJA.

I agree. I was secretly hoping that AJA and Apple had worked things out and that we’d see Color 1.0.2 come out.

    But alas, not yet.

    no question.
it’s also what Color uses from its render preview – since the previews in Color default to 1/2 or 1/4 rez you are actually viewing the preview render at size the size that apple sends it out.

I have yet to hit a AJA wall with IoHD, a bunch from apple, but none from the AJA side.

FCP 6.01 still does not see LTC timecode when capturing- you have you use AJA’s VTR exchange to capture LTC timecode direct from the cameras.

This has nothing to do with AJA and everything to do with Apple. Leopard is so close that there will probably be a slew of updates released for the Studio Suite right after that happens. Of course you’ll have to be running Leopard to take advantage of them.

We’ll know in about a week.
