Sure Chris, EVERY airplane has an AC plug. They’re in different configurations, and not always at your seat.

Once you find out where it is, all you do is, take your extension cord, cut the end off with your knife, solder the loose wires to the proper connector, and then run the extension cord down the aisle to your seat (might need two cords, some of those aisles are long), while guarding the “hot” end from all the other passengers who want to use it too.

Then, plug the “hot” end into your UPS unit (variable voltages are a big problem), and plug in your laptop and hard drive and io HD, etc., and — oops, the pilot is telling us that we have to close our trays because we’re landing.

YES there are real power plugs (both 110v and 220v) on multiple airlines for over water international flights. I have cut projects on airplanes then plugged in to finish when I landed, so just because you cant do it on your flights does not mean that it does not exist.

Power on flights in the continental US is limited at best,however the Overseas flights have far more capabilities because you have to spend 16 hrs + when flying to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo or Dubai.
