We are trying to change the black level setting for color correction.
In the IO control panel there is an option to select 7.5 or 0 black.

The setting is on 7.5, but as much as we have tried to change it to 0 black,
the selection keeps changing to 7.5 by itself.

Is this a bug or are we missing something?
Any help will be greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Stuart,

Make sure FCP is closed when you make the change in the Control Panel App and make sure you have downloaded the latest version (and latest firmware for your Io). A workaround is to either use the SDI (digital) out of the Io to get zero black to your monitor/deck, or use one of the Japanese NTSC presets for your sequence.

    Thanks Tony,

I tried what you said, and I was half successful. I was able to change the Io black setting through the
control panel (latest firmaware and driver), but the composite output of the Io did not reflect the black
level change from 7.5 to 0 IRE (Io composite out is connected to a waveform / vectorscope monitor).

I had slug from FCP and the slug was still 7.5 IRE. Shouldn’t the slug switch to 0 automatically?
My only point of reference is the Aurora Igniter we used to have. When the black level settings were changed
it would automatically adjust the outputs.

    Any ideas or comments?
    Thanks!

    Stuart,

I’d give AJA a call or email and tell them what you’re trying to do. I’ve never checked the output of the composite to see if that normal for the Io’s. Let us know what you find out as it will most likely help someone else in the future.

I will. I am swamped with work for the next 2 weeks.
I will do a new post if the thread gets too far down the list.
