Hello All,

I recently upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 and unfortunately it bricked the AJA ioXT that I use with it. I tried uninstalling the aja software and re-installing it but with no luck. It displays “unsupported AJA device”. It’s curious that the installer says one should get an error on installation, that you should go to the security and privacy window and click on allow. I DO NOT get this error message on installation.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I upgraded to Big Sur and encountered the same problem. these two documents helped solve the issue.

    https://support.digi-box.co.uk/support/solutions/articles/6000214075-io4k-showing-in-control-panel-as-unsupported-aja-device

    https://www.aja.com/pdf/2021/AJA-Software-Installer_macOS_v16.1_ReleaseNotes.pdf

upon booting I now have a small issue of not seeing the device, so I use Terminal to do this:

“After restarting, if the system fails to load the AJA driver:
○Open the Terminal application.
○Type in “sudo touch /Library/Extensions” into the Terminal window … then press Enter or Return.
○When prompted, enter the password for the administrator account.”

    Hi Ken,

Digging through the archives to try to figure out why my Aja IO 4K Plus doesn’t work with my M1 Macbook Pro and stumbled across your post.

Unfortunately when I try to make an account for the 1st link you posters on digi-box, it says “You are not allowed to access this page!”

Could you upload a screenshot or PDF of that page?

I’m not sure what OS you are running. Try downloading the latest AJA desktop video driver software.

    https://www.aja.com/products/io-4k-plus#support , 17.1.3 ,

The instructions I posted above were to correct a faulty software not recognizing the device.

I downgraded after that to Catalina for a more stable system. (Intel macpro cheesegrater.) haven’t upgraded since.
