Would anyone know if it possible to capture variable frame rates with the AJ-HD1800 off of tape shot at 720 with the varicam?

    And if so how?

I know how to do it through fcp but wanted to see if there was a way to do it using the deck.

Thanks for any help you could offer.

IN HD, you choose Playback format of 1080 or 720.

The format it was recorded in will display while playing the tape.

If you shot 720/24 VFR then you capture (FCP) 720/24 playing out of deck 720

    Thanks Chris.
I think my question was unclear. I’m looking to see if it’s possible to capture the slow motion through the deck into fcp or any system.
Without doing it the conversion in FCP

    I shot 720 30p at 60fps.
So can I set the deck to play out the 60fps (or to do the pulldown on the fly) the slow motion footage I shot?

    Thanks

ya, the deck won’t slow it down more if that’s what you mean.
