    Use iTunes.
I do this all the time.

itunes (menu) > Prerences… > Importing > “Import Using:” > MP3 Encoder “Setting:” > (choose “High” or “Higher” for best quality) > “OK” (closes preferences).

Drop your AIFF clip into an iTunes open window, click once on your clip to select it, and choose:
Advanced (menu) > Convert Selection to AIFF.

Works VERY fast and stores new MP3 file in the iTunes library.

You can do a “search” (apple f) to locate the new MP3 file on the hard drive and then just drop it into an email.

There as a small error in the previous post:
It should be “Convert Selection to MP3” (not AIFF as I posted earlier).

The full, corrected method is as follows:

iTunes (menu) > Prerences… > Importing > “Import Using:” > MP3 Encoder “Setting:” > (choose “High” or “Higher” for best quality) > “OK” (closes preferences).

Drop your AIFF clip into an iTunes open window, click once on your clip to select it, and choose:
Advanced (menu) > Convert Selection to MP3.

Works VERY fast and stores new MP3 file in the iTunes library.

You can do a “search” (apple f) to locate the new MP3 file on the hard drive and then just drop it into an email.

    Hey Thax,

This is good to know, not real savvy with iTunes. How do you get a hold of the files, drag them out of the iTunes library?

BTW, as a side benefit, Compression Master 3 makes great mp3s, fast!

    ===

Just grab it right there from the library and drag it to any folder (or the desktop). It will make a copy of it wherever you drop it.

    I agree with Thax.

But if you want to batch convert AIFF files to MP3, iTunes is not able to help. iTunes only supports batch converting AIFF to AAC, not MP3.

Here is a guide about how to batch convert AIFF to MP3
