Vo’s at my office are recorded on a small mixer with an internal harddrive and CD burner.

They are then converted to AIFF files and burned to the CD.

When I put any of these’s CD in my G5 Power PC at work it reads it fine and I can play the VO, copy it or what ever I wish.

WHen I take the CD home and put it mu my DVD drive on my system at home, (which is pretty much identical as at work) I get Chinese characters for the name of the audio track in Finder or I-Tunes and it will not play.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

[Steve C] “They are then converted to AIFF files and burned to the CD. “

If you burned it as an audio CD instead of a data CD, your home computer might have connected to the CD name database and matched it up with a CD from an Asian music artist.

It should still be able to playback though…

You could try to burn a different CD from your computer at work instead and see what happens.

This happens with any CD that is burned on the digital mixer at work. It’s not a computer.
It’s a digital mixer with an internal harddrive and you can burn the session or mix to a cd when done.
