    HI Guys,

    I am losing my mind.

    Working in AE CS5.

I have an Ai file. I separated the layers. Saved it. opened it up in AE and when I click on the cube for 3d it flips them and then I can’t move them in Z space.

I tried to export for PS but it’s the same.

    Can anyone please help?

    Thanks!

    Paolo

IS the Ai file precomped? if so make sure all layers inside the comp are 3d as well.

    Hi,

It doesn’t matter. Whether I use the comp from Ai or individual layers into a new comp. No difference.
    Thanks

How are you trying to move the layers in Z? Are you able to see the Z values in the Timeline?

One thought – are you viewing the Comp from an orthographic view like Front rather than the Active Camera view?

    Thats what I was thinking.

If you have a camera and when you convert something to 3D and it moves/disappears – you need to adjust the camera or the properties on the new 3D object.
