  • AHH!!! Render error after adding 1GB RAM!!!!

I just added 2 x OCZ 512MB PC3200 RAM to my computer (Asus P5GD1 motherboard, P4 3.2GHZ), which already had 2 x OCZ 512MB PC3200 RAM, giving me a total of 2GB RAM. (The original RAM was in slots 1 and 3, so I put the new ones in 2 and 4.) This has increased my processing speed, BUT when I try to render, I get the following error:

    Video Preview Error
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.

If I take the extra RAM out, the error no longer shows up and I can render normally. What is going on?? How can I fix this while keeping my new RAM in?? Help!!!

Ok, I restarted the computer and the render went away — initially. I then did another render (lots of video effects and slowmo on the clips) later, and got the above “Error compiling movie” again. What gives?!
