    Hey,

Just checked out Aharon’s “Mocha & AE” tutorial – very cool. Excellent even.

Have just recently bought Mocha, for the very reasons that Aharon mentions (AE’s tracker just not being robust enough in certain situations).

SO glad he’s put out this tutorial. It’s exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. You must have psychic powers, Aharon.

I would LOVE it if you did a follow-up on the roto tools and how you would use them with AE. I don’t think Mocha exports masks or roto-shapes to AE but, I guess, you can export Track Mattes or just roto the footage and export the RGB with an Alpha Channel.

I’d even pay for a tutorial like that! Oops… don’t want to put any ideas in your head.

Keep ’em coming, Aharon. You’re helping people all over the world.

    Thanks kindly,

    ALEX

It’s on the list of possibles. However, I’m leaving for a trip to the UK next week and will be gone for a bit. We’ll see.

In the mean time, check out the imagineer forum here at the cow, and visit the Imagineer website where they have a roto tutorial up (on the motor page, I think, but same tools). It’s not easy to see everything being done, because of the size, but it does explain a lot.

Ultimately, from Mocha (or motor) you either render a track matte or an image sequence with alpha channel.

    Hey folks,
Glad that you are taking advantage of mocha! Its killer sfw and really helps solve a lot of problems that advanced AE users run into all the time.

I’d encourage you to check out the Imagineer forum here on Cow.
We are currently looking for mocha v2 feature requests, so please get your ideas in soon!

    Best,
    Ross
