Can’t use the gain switch. Get “Cannot Proceed” message.
The manual says you can’t be in FULL auto mode and use the Gain Switch.

    Here’s what I’ve tried.
    1. Hit full auto button – Full Auto ON
    2. Hit button again – Full Auto OFF

I’ve gone into the TLCS expanded menu and made sure the AGC is OFF.

    What else am I missing?

    Thanks for your help.

It’s the Direct Menu mode settings- here’s another post that will give you the clues:

When I finally got down to Direct Menu and changed it from “Part” to “All” I started getting the “cannot proceed” warning when I operated either the shutter or gain switches. So, out came the manual and sure ’nuff there at the upper right of page 19 were the words “When the Direct mode is set to “All,” the GAIN, SHUTTER, and WHITE BAL switches are disabled.”

Now that I understand what Direct Menu is and how it works since having the actual camera I can see the logic of this method of operation but I wish the preceding statement had been highlighted a little better.

    Thanks,

I missed that. The Direct Mode setting did the trick. I had SEARCHED automatic gain and AGC but didn’t see that post.

CC forum comes to the rescue again.
