  • again…TC on audio channel converting to 9pin deck control – Sean O`Neil can maybe help

    hello everyone!

i have already posted my question 2 weeks ago- meanwhile i was away and now i would like to have some more informations if posssible..
have to edit a dokumentary, they filmed with the sony z1 and the sound was recorded on an hd recorder (they needed more then 2 channels and the sound guy wanted to rec. with 24bit to have more headroom-he didnt have an assistant and the circumstances havent been really easy)… so they put the timecode on the audio channel which FCP cannot read like avid does.
so there have been some advices from Sean O`Neil to get a gadget that takes the tc from the audio channel and places it to the 9pin deck control which FCP can read. does anyone know how it works then and what this gadget is called, cause Sean didnt remamber the name..
If i capture from the hdv-deck via firewire and i connect the audio channel through this gadjet to my decklink extreme deck control, do i have the right tc on my footage? does anyone know how it works?

are there any other possibility to get this tc written on the audio channel?
    thankfull for any help
    dannie

    Horita makes a VITC/LTC timecode to RS422 inserter, the TCI-50. I haven’t used it.

thank you very much for your help! i checked it out and the TCI-50 is available only for NTSC.
Im working with PAL…so its actually useless for me.
There is also the other solution to use the TIMETOOLS from
    https://www.gallery.co.uk/
-> go to product -> timetools – there is no direct link

did anyone worked with this software???
does anyone know anything about it?
