  • AG HVX-200 List Price Increase!

So what happens when an individual places a deposit with a reseller when panisonic was advertising one price, but now prices have magically changed overnight???

I just surfed back over to the product page and noticed that the price for one of their options has bumped up slightly on the twin 4 gig model Panny also removed the (save $400) blurb next to the original $6995 pricing. It was in fact priced (with no mention of limited time guidelines ) at $6995. Now it shows the following…

    AG-HVX200 + two 4GB P2 cards – U.S. List Price $7,295.00

And the top end with two 8GB P2 cards originally said (save $1000) to the right of that price line and now it just says “save $400”. So I guess this was a slight of hand price increase on the P2 cards. I’m not sure what prompted the repricing higher on the twin 4 GB + camera option, but it did in fact just get repriced higher.

I’m not smoking crack. I have screen shots on my laptop of that page when it said:

    AG-HVX200 + two 4GB P2 cards – U.S. List Price $6,995.00 (save $400)

So why am I bothering to metion this? Because I placed an order for that item and now I’m seeing the price has just changed. I didn’t realize that panisonic had changed the pricing or that they hadn’t finalized their pricing yet!!!

The corporate managers are getting excited when they see the reaction from the customer base. “These people are so excited about the HVX lets raise the prices!!”

Actually it was a mistake should never have been posted that way. Sorry the conspiracy theories don’t fly here. It was just too many things going on and it slipped out of control.

    Sorry,

the camera with 2 8gig cards was a savings of 1000 when the 8 gig cards were 2750 but they dropped to 2250 so that did away with the 1000 savings !! = it a wash for the camera & 8 gig as the price remains the same ..

it is probably up to the reseller on the price he gives you as he could sell it to you for the price when you ordered it ..

    Jan,
I was just stating facts. Your post is the answer to my question. It was not a price increase, but rather a mistake on the site initially that has now been updated. So be it. Thanks for the quick clarification.

I can verify that. I sat in on the presentation to the dealers at DVExpo on Tuesday of last week, where pricing was announced to the dealers. The prices were posted on the website on Wednesday. The prices that were announced to the dealers were the ones that are now on the website. The “save $200” prices were a surprise to me, since that’s not what the dealers were told, and obviously the web guy posted the wrong sheet because it was quickly changed. But what’s on the website now is what the dealers were told on Tuesday. So no increase, instead a mistake on the part of the web guy.

[donatello] “it is probably up to the reseller on the price he gives you as he could sell it to you for the price when you ordered it ..”

Indeed. There was no increase from the factory, so whatever deal you have in place with your dealer should continue at whatever price you negotiated when you placed your order.
