  • AFX to FCP 7 issue….

I’ve been rendering out several graphics from AFX in different codecs (Animation, ProRes) with no interlacing on them. But when I import them into FCP 7, Final Cut reads these Quiktimes as being interlaced with upper field first, making for some ugly looking graphics. This usually happens when working at 29.97fps, when I’m in a 23.98 project, the graphics are imported properly into FCP. Anyone else have this issue or know what the problem is?

    Hi James,
Some codecs do not properly flags the field order, so FC has to guess it and often assign the wrong field order.
Just check the files as progressive (NONE) in FC’s Browser before to bring them to the time-line.
