    Hi all,

Been wondering if anyone knows a way to use the photoshop layers filters in afx
If you import a psd as comp they appear but else they seem annoying to find
The one i’m particularily interested in is the glow of photoshop, ie outline blur, since the glow of afx doesnt do it the same(selection layer blur+colors change)
Of course it’s possible to do it with other methods, but if there was a way to directly use the photoshop filters without having to go through importing a psd, i’d be interested in knowing

    Best Regards,

    Paul-Kenji Cahier

AE 6.5 dropped the ability to use PS filters. Sorry, you’ll need to use an older version of AE, but I wouldn’t recommend it, since doing that is a bit of a dead end.

Try importing a PSD with a glowed layer, then save the layer that has the glow on it as an Animation Preset.
There’s no other way, as they’re not listed in the effects.

It’s worth noting that the AE-variety has less possibilities than the PS one, for instance there’s no precise vs soft setting, or strength:
in AE it’s just a colored in gaussian blurred version of the layer.
