Im scaling my letterbox footage back to full height.(returning to anamorphic)
Doing a test in Premier, vs doing the scaling in AFX.
Which do you think would yield the better result.

Using the original footage will be much better – since it’s yours, why not return to the source and recapture ..?

The source is a letterbox digital beta and there is no anamorphic master available. I have captured the letterbox and wanted to stretch back to full height. I know this is not the best practice..but it is common around here, and clients think its a great thing.

But the render times on Premier and AFX are HUGELY different.
An quick test left me undecided…i wondered what people thought here.
Which would render the footage best..AFX or Premier.

I am not at all sure that the engines underneath the hood on both products are not the same. It may not matter, except that Premiere Pro will probably render a lot faster.
