  • AFX 6.5: Crash when trying to open file

I’m using AFX 6.5 on Win XP. I’m using a computer in a computer lab, but I’m pretty sure nobody ever makes any significant changes to the setup of this station.

After Effects used to work completely fine ~2 weeks ago, haven’t touched it since. It was working fine today when I was working on a previous project. All of a sudden it crashed with the good ‘ole “0 :: 42” error. Upon restarting AFX, I can start a new project perfectly fine. But if I try to ‘open’ or ‘import’ anything, it crashes again with the same error.

Before it crashed, I had tried to do some reorganizing of my files, wanted to drag a picture from 1 folder into a different folder (all within my project window).
