    …doing my part to help others out here. I spent a few hours on the phone and finally got this answer via Applecare word of mouth. Apparently Apple doesn’t have this documented. At the time of writing this, neither did macramdirect.com. I emailed them about it and they said it would be documented on their site soon.

    Basically, you can’t install their hyperdensity ram until after you have installed FCStudio on the machine. Somehow it creates an install error. So buy the ram (it seems to be doing a bangupjob), install FCP, then install the RAM to avoid problems.

    I have 4GB and 3GB respectively of Crucial RAM installed on both of our G5 systems and FCP Studio installed without issue on both.
