AfterFX.ini
I cannot find the file “AfterFX.ini” anywhere on my hard drive… i’ve looked in hidden folders/files and can’t find it. Can anyone help me?
The reason I am trying this solution is because everytime i add an effect (gradient/wipe/ramp) i get rendering problems which include strange horizontal lines that are not the right colors and it generally takes up the top half of my composition.
[edit] i did find a configuration file named AfterFX9 and it contained the same line as the one stated in the link but after making the changes it came to no avail. i found this file in C:\Documents and Settings\RAMSEY\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\9.0

Try re-installing the app. It’s a pain to do so, but sometimes that’s the best solution.
