Hi. New Avid user here, but I’m a longtime AfterEffects user. I have some pieces that I’ve created in AE that I want to take into Avid. Using the Avid Meridien codec, I get the message that says “Quick Import” while importing, but the import is no where near what I would think is quick, considering I’ve used their codec. I’ve tried dragging and dropping and I’ve tried using the “import” dialog. Am I missing something?

I use the animation codec exclusively. It comes in pretty quick – I’m usually importing :30 seconds in less than 2 minutes.

I’m curious why you don’t use one of the Avid codecs? It would seem to me that would be the fastest way, since (I assume) it would involve no re-encoding.

I’ve found it great for going to different systems, and I’ve found it gives me the cleanest video.

If you have it configured right (in AE’s export), The ‘fast import’ should be 1.25 RT or so.

Meridian uncompressed, Millions of Colors +, STRAIGHT Alpha, lower field first, 720×486.
