  • after MULTICLIP editing loosing the original name of DAT in the omf

Posted by Moztu on March 1, 2006 at 11:01 am

    hi
i have edited a feature that was shot with two cameras, with the multiclip option. i have used the DAT sound as a third multiclip option, saving time at the sync process.
the problem appears when I export an OMF for audio post and the dat sound appears to have the name of the video instead of having it

What’s the multiclip option? Do you mean multicam? After you did the edit. did you collapse the sequence clips?

    All the best,

    Tom

yes i did, but it seems to still keep the name of video. it is something to do with just the mane because it manages the files properly. what i mean is that the program doesnt mix the files at all. it is just that the name of the dat file in the sequence appears to be different.

    Just a thought.

Does the name have any “slashes” in it?

(Like “Audio 1/26/06” instead of “Audio 1-26-06).

Sometimes that will cause problems in file names.

    Tom,

I believe you’re mistaken in correcting the original poster, regarding the terminology of “multicam” and “multiclip.” The correct terminology in FCP 5 is “multiclip.”

Just trying to prevent continued confusion over this terminology. 😉
