After FX Professional vers 7 (for PC)
Posted by Jeremy Presner on July 9, 2007 at 10:58 pmI just won the After FX Professional vers 7 (for PC) at the After FX users group. (Thanks Adobe!)
Considering I am a Mac User I was wondering if (and how well) it will run under Parallels on a MacBook Pro. (a 2.4 if it matters)
Please advise,
thanks
Jeremy

July 9, 2007 at 11:17 pmAn Adobe rep had the yarbles to show up and couldn’t bother to offer you a version you can use? That’s not a prize, that’s a recyclable container.
Call Adobe and ask nice. If it’s not been opened yet, what have you got to lose?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

July 10, 2007 at 12:00 amIt’s pretty easy to get a cross-grade (from PC to OSX), just call their main customer support line, press 2 (for Sales) and ask for a cross-grade. They will need your serial number and that’s pretty much it. From there, you will be sent a new version that is Mac and your license (for upgrades etc. will be Mac.

July 10, 2007 at 11:18 amI did phone them and ask to swap for a Mac version and said they wouldn’t. They did say i can cross grade for $300 but was trying to find a way to get a Mac version without dropping $$$. 🙁

July 10, 2007 at 2:34 pmDid they say why they couldn’t do it without charging? Is it because it was a contest giveaway? That’s strange.

July 10, 2007 at 10:37 pmI’d try the ‘ol “I’d like to speak with your manager” routine.
Or, sometimes your can get different results by calling again and speaking with someone else. -

July 11, 2007 at 1:56 pmThey don’t sell AE7 anymore so are trying to get you to buy the upgrade to CS3. Interesting marketing technique. Give away your old unsellable stock hoping it will turn into upgrades. Maybe speak to someone in marketing. Tell them you’d like to try it at least before buying an upgrade.
