  • After Effects/Photoshop CS3 Layer Import- HELP PLEASE!

Posted by Byron L. pfordte on November 25, 2009 at 4:10 pm

I am having trouble importing layers into After Effects CS3 from Photoshop CS3 projects. If I choose to import a specific layer from Photoshop into After Effects, for whatever reason it does not import the correct layer, but rather imports some other – seemingly random – layer from the photoshop project. Has anyone else come across this or have any ideas how to remedy? Thanks.

Are you using After Effects CS3 (8.0.2)? The 8.0.2 update fixed some problems with the import of layers from PSD files.

Sorry for the late update. I tried your suggestions, but they did not seem to remedy the problem. A previous post to this thread said to update to 8.02, and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the input though. Have a Merry Christmas!
