    Hey Guys,

This has probably been discussed somewhere, but I am having a hard time finding a suitable solution.

I am looking for a way to get XML values into a text layer’s sourceText so that I can easily update several text layers in an animation by just changing the XML and then run a commandline renderer.

Any of you guys have some info on how to do this??

    Thanks in advance…

    Cheers,
    Allard

There are a few good tools for doing this sort of work, including CompsFromSpreadsheet [link] and pt_OpenSesame Server [link].

If you can wrap your programmatic output in JavaScript instead of XML, you can read it from an expression with $.evalFile.

You might be able to save your After Effects project file as After Effects XML and process that programmatically for text replacement.

You could also write a script to handle the I/O, parsing, and text replacement.
